The Biobehavioral Research Division within the Military and Veterans Health Services Operation at Leidos has a need for an Associate Editor.
The individual selected for this position will perform a variety of editing support duties for the Naval Health Research Center Headquarters, San Diego, CA. Specifically, the successful candidate will provide expert consultation services in the areas of writing and preparation of medical, technical, and scientific authored works for publication in peer-reviewed journals and on the command intranet and internet sites, and for distribution or presentation of technical reports and conference materials
a. Consult on document formatting for publication
b. Edit documents and recommend changes for product improvement
c. Maintain editing guidelines and products lists
d. Adhere to the command authored works review approval process
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; at least 2 years of experience preparing and editing medical, technical, and scientific documents according AMA 10th Ed. and APA 6th Ed. styles.
- The candidate must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite version 7, specifically using Track Changes functionality; able to multitask and manage multiple tasks at once; able to complete assignments quickly without sacrificing accuracy; and adept at working in a highly customer-oriented environment.
- This position is full time and is located on site at the Naval Health Research Center in Point Loma, CA, with work hours to coincide with the standard command business hours of 0700–1630.
Working knowledge of Navy medical R&D activities and the government and military in general. Previous or current clearance or history of a completed government background check
