Airborne Solutions within the Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opportunity for an Aircraft Quality Control Inspector to work at our Manassas Regional Airport, Manassas, VA. We integrate, man, deploy, and maintain FAA certified aircraft for various CONUS and OCONUS operations in support of DOD and other agencies/partners.
In this role, you will ensure that Aircraft Maintenance is accomplished in accordance with FAA and DCMA 8210.1C, Leidos policies and procedures. This involves a broad understanding of all aspects of aviation including maintenance and operation functions.
•Review aircraft log books and historical records ensuring maintenance is performed with the appropriate procedures
•Perform required inspection functions during all checks on routine work documents; Ensure that all inspections are performed as required during manufacturing process and high standards of workmanship are being attained
•Prepare, verify and submit Government Flight Representative required documentation
•Provide daily feedback to Program Management on daily activities
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
•Must have a current DoD Secret level of Clearance
•Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of prior relevant experience; or Master’s with 4 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of direct experience working in aviation programs allowed in lieu of a degree.
•Must have at least 6 years’ experience performing aircraft maintenance and previously held a Quality Control role
•Must have a current FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certification
•Must have a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
•Ability to create and maintain aviation program manuals, forms, and records
•Must have a current DoD Secret level of clearance
•Must be proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office products
•Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
•10% CONUS travel required
•Ability to work Day or Night shifts, including weekends to meet the mission of the program
•Knowledge and experience with FAA Part 145 guidelines
•Knowledge and experience with ISR operations
•Knowledge and experience with Mission Equipment Payloads
•Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of aviation related experience
