The Leidos team supporting the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment, and Energy (SAF/IE) currently has an opening for a Workflow Manager at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.  

This position entails direct programmatic support to the Assistant Secretary, and requires professional demeanor, understanding of the organizational structure of the Department of Defense, and experience supporting DoD executive leadership.

Primary Responsibilities
Communicate effectively with Air Force and external agencies in writing, on the phone, and in person to assist the SAF/IE front office team in accomplishing program related decisions.

Interface with senior level DoD civilians and military personnel to advocate for Air Force positions on infrastructure, energy, and the environment.

Assign, manage taskings, and perform quality control review on staff decision actions for Assistant Secretary using the Air Force’s Task Management Tool (TMT).

Review response inputs from Subject Matter Experts to inquiries from Congress, civic leaders, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and develop packages for Assistant Secretary approval and signature.

Represent the voice of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force in matters of civil engineering, environmental, energy, infrastructure, and installation management in formal SAF/IE communications. 

Coordinate official Air Force communications for internal technical, legal, and legislative affairs reviews prior to external submission.

Train civilian and military personnel on process for crafting formal communications on behalf of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.

Additional duties as required.

Basic Qualifications
DoD Secret clearance.
Experience working with the Department of Defense.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and SharePoint).
Experience providing direct support to Executive-level leadership.
Familiarity with military protocol.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Headquarters Air Force, Air Staff, or Air Force General Officers.
Familiarity with the Air Force’s Task Management Tool (TMT).
Experience tasking staff and preparing staff inputs for approval and external release/publication.
Experience authoring professional communications without supervision.

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires a BA degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
