The DI Data Science Lead shall serve as the management and technical lead for contract personnel performing functions in support of the DI’s data science and data analytic efforts. The DI Data Science Lead shall be responsible for providing senior-level expertise to data analytics in support of CT analysis, including the conceptualization, creation, delivery of new data science tools and services, and providing suggestions for best practices in data management and database creation. The DI Data Science Lead shall lead or direct the work of up to 20 contractor personnel to meet the requirements of DI data analytic and science efforts in conjunction with other directorates and offices within the Center. This work includes but is not limited to the following:
Providing CT and data science expertise to IT developers building analytic and data science platforms aimed at automating processes and integrating and applying analytics to large volumes of data. Proposing and implementing initiatives to address current information and capability gaps. Providing CT and data science expertise to advise on the acquisition, disposition, and use of available datasets. Conducting comprehensive research using diverse sources of data and research tools. Understanding, correlating, and interpreting large volumes of data. Engaging with customers to develop advanced analytic projects, tailoring discussions to convey the proposed method, data, and results to a largely non-technical customer set, and effectively manage the completion of projects. Keeping abreast of major CT issues and analytic lines. Marketing advanced quantitative methodologies and data science to potential partners and customers. Ensuring analytic integrity, engaging with peers on potential methodological approaches to projects, providing feedback to peer project proposals, and participating in the data science peer review process.
Minimum requirements include:
TS/SCI with Poly
Bachelor's degree and 12 experience with intelligence analysis, including five years in data science.
5 years of experience performing as a team lead or manger; or a minimum of five years of experience executing data-driven solutions and analysis for non-technical audiences.
Master of Science degree in a data science fields such as IT, computer science, engineering, math, physics, applied statistics, computations and modeling, or other related fields.
Experience in an IC, military, or other Government environment performing in a role similar to that of the DI Data Science Lead.
