The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Quality Control Specialist to work in our Edgewood, MD office. The Quality Control Specialist will support C5ISR prototyping and Test and Quality Assurance activities for the rapid prototyping, integration and testing of C5ISR technologies in multiple military platforms. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting QC inspections of military vehicle installation kits prior to delivery to the customer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct QC of kit components and completed kits to verify conformance with all requirements. Work with logistics specialists to ensure non-conformances are identified and resolved prior to delivering kits to the customer. 
  • Track status and resolution of all QC actions.
  • Work with team to keep Program Manager informed of status of QC inspections of kit components (i.e., bagged hardware and wrapped fabricated parts) and completed kits, and any issues that may affect project schedule.
  • Assist with operations of a supply room to include stocking shelves, inventorying, shopping for resupply items, and issuing consumable supplies to customers. 
  • Support deliverable tracking efforts and provide status updates to the program. 
  • Demonstrate willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in order to support the overall organization. 
     

Basic Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance. Due to federal contract regulations, US citizenship is required.
  • Two-year degree in Engineering Technology, Business, Accounting or related scientific/technical discipline and 3-5 years’ experience. An additional 4 years of direct relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with conducting quality inspections of completed kits. 
  • Basic understanding of and familiarity with Military and DoD quality standards such as MIL-Q-9588A, MIL I 45208, or ISO-9001.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and be organized in a complex and fast-paced environment.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with collection of quality metrics, execution of quality plans, and/or preparation and execution of quality-related tests, audits, inspections, data collections, report preparation.
  • Experience with conducting quality assurance inspections of cables, fabricated parts, and/or painted products.
  • Ability to balance priorities and to thrive in a multi-customer environment.
