Job Description:

This position, within the Leidos – Civil, Transportation Solutions line of business and staffed in Gaithersburg, MD is within the Hardware System Engineering/Maintenance Implementation Engineering organization.

This is a temporary co-op position for the duration on May 2020 through August 2020.

The position will support the design and development of the ERAM ES3 program, which supports the FAA’s NextGen mission for advancing Air Traffic Control systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Candidate will provide support to the ERAM/DC Hardware Engineering team in the prototyping and design of the ERAM ES3 hardware system.

Includes supporting product selection trade studies, development of System Bill’s-of-Materials, CAD drawing updates, Cable Marking Specifications and the creation of retrofit installation instructions.

Other duties will include supporting the engineering change process and other duties as assigned.

Duties may include supporting business process improvements or systems analysis for missions, systems, and fiscal requirements. 

Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies.

Develops products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories and concepts within own technical specialty.

Basic Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering degree candidate.

Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program in a relevant discipline.

Your GPA needs to be included on your application and resume.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidate should have good MS: Office (Excel, WORD, PWRPT, Access) skills, ACAD/VISIO a plus.

Communicates with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes and practices related to this area.
