The Network Engineer will support a Network Management Control Center (NMCC) in day-to-day operations and monitoring of the client's network equipment availability and performance, respond to alerts and trouble tickets, and perform troubleshooting tasks.
This position will support a 4 pm to 12 am shift.
Key duties will include managing various components of the infrastructure, including wired and wireless routers, switches, Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) components, appliance-based specialty networking or system hardware, configuration of alert management systems on other managed infrastructure components such as service desk tools, and the monitoring and alerting infrastructure which serves as the nexus of the NMCC's incident and alert management system.
Additional duties may involve project-based work for the improvement of the client's infrastructure or other elements of NMCC alert management, including integration of additional components, systems, or products into the managed device framework.
Candidate will work as part of a team comprised of other Leidos employees, sub-contractors and client personnel. Open communicates with these team members is paramount to ensure the client's network achieves over a 99% availability.
Bachelor's degree in related field and 8+ years’ experience managing a large enterprise network, including LAN and WAN technologies based on Cisco hardware and platforms.
ACSP, CCNA, or CCNP (all certifications must be valid and have certification number and/or a copy of the actual certificate must be provided)
Experience working in a Network Operation Center (NOC) environment, responding to trouble tickets and alerts for LAN and WAN environments.
Expertise in networking concepts and equipment such as IPv4 and IPv6, MPLS, PLS and SIP, Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Protocol analyzers, and probes
Candidate must have the ability to work as part of an operations team and be able to support multiple tasks at the same time
