The Leidos Automated Installation Entry (AIE) team has an opening for Jr. Network Engineer supporting our program being deployed to Army installations in CONUS, AK, HI and PR. Our home base is in Edgewood MD which houses the program team, warehouse operations, system integration lab, 24x7 Help Desk operation, engineering center and full-scale replicas of AIE for installations to include Access Control Points/Lanes and the Visitor Control Center.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting site and overall system network configurations, settings, topology and integration of site VPNs to the milCloud 2.0 enterprise data center interface, local site network design settings and topology and interfacing with external organizations in order to establish network connectivity. Also responsible for setting the network configuration and integrating network systems/components being integrated in the Lakeside System Lab in Edgewood prior to deployment to the installation.
Primary duties include:
- Loading network device configurations
- Installing network devices
- Troubleshooting network devices
- Supporting other functional areas as required
- Conduct testing of installed systems to ensure proper operation.
- Perform remedial maintenance and troubleshooting to bring inoperative systems back to an operational state.
- Perform the integration of system and device firmware/software as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in IT obtained within 12 months of start date.
- 1-2 years of experience obtained through internships and/or relevant course and lab work.
- Coursework in networking and routing
- Requires U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
This is a “hands-on” developmental position and requires in-field and in-lab work.
