The Defense group at Leidos has an immediate need for a Network Administrator in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is in a fast paced, research and development based, daily operations and maintenance environment. The position will have a 
heavy focus on operational support of the network along with systems administration supporting the R&D community.  Candidate will support Cisco and Netgear network gear, Firewall and VPN devices.  Candidate will work with the engineering team to install, configure and maintain server operating systems, including hardening based on Department of Defense/DISA guidelines (STIGs).  Ideal candidate will also be able to mentor junior employees in various areas relating to the position.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidate will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading Cisco and Netgear devices to include installing the IOS operating system, hardening the systems following Department of Defense DISA guidelines (STIGs), maintaining configurations, architecting and implementing changes to the network infrastructure.  Using network device experience, the candidate will maintain the operational Palo Alto Firewall and Pulse Secure VPN appliances.  Candidate should have experience with various network tools like ITPIE, RADIUS and networks like DREN.  The candidate will provide systems administration support for servers and workstations to include installation, configuration of systems, maintain systems and integrate systems into the domain.  Candidate should be familiar with CITRIX VDI technology, VMWare and ELK log aggregation.  Candidate will assist in the design, methods and processes to maintain the network and systems infrastructure. The candidate will document all aspects of their work to include Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, As Builts, training instructions, diagrams, and other documentation needed to meet contract requirements.  Candidate is responsible for tracking work performed in the Jira database, as well as be responsible for work tickets assigned. The qualified applicant will be part of a team that is involved in the daily operations of the R&D operational infrastructure.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain; additional experience in lieu of degree.
•Must be experience working with various network technologies (Cisco, Netgear, Palo Alto, Pulse Secure, IDS, etc.) 
•Must be experienced with virtualization technologies like VMWare, along with experience working in Windows, Red Hat Linux and ESXi
•Candidate should have hands on experience in creating, maintaining and troubleshooting a network and systems operational environment and be able to understand the impact of outages to customers. Candidate will be expected to deal with customer issues ranging from account requests and problems to troubleshooting connectivity to deploying new environments.
•Currently has a DoD Top Secret or higher clearance Security+ with Continuing Education (CE) required U.S. citizenship
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience using a trouble ticketing system: assigning, completing, filling out and tracking tickets
•Experience leading a team a plus
•Experience assisting junior team members with various technical challenges
