The Cloud Transition Lead is responsible for cloud migration plans and strategy; full system (network & application) transition plan development, internal and external coordination, and coordination of “go live” plan for applications into a Cloud or Hybrid Cloud platform. The Cloud Transition Lead responsibilities include architecting and leading the development and integration of cloud-transition activities based on technical and mission requirements and operational constraints including application transition, network development and testing and full end to end test coordination including final transition to operations. The successful candidate has experience with large system transitions in mission critical enterprise environments, coordination and communication skills to ensure all parties are coordinated with and have tested and exercised their components of the enterprise prior to ‘go live’ milestone.
In coordination with development and infrastructure teams – create and coordinate cloud transition plans and drive execution of those plans to successful cloud-based mission operations.
Ensure cloud transition risks are proactively identified and tracked to ensure successful transition
Experience leading mission critical system transitions to operations.
Extensive experience supporting cloud architecture design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud/Big Data technologies (AWS, C2S, AML, GovCloudHadoop, Elastic, Yarn, MapReduce, Spark)
One of the following AWS Certifications:
- AWS Certified System Architect (Associate)
- AWS Certified System Architect (Professional)
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (Associate)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional)
- AWS Certified Big Data (Specialty)
Extensive experience utilizing AGILE development methodologies and Application Lifecycle Management.
Extensive experience working with programming languages such as Java, C++, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Pig/Hive, and/or Elixir.
Candidate must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph.
Candidate must have Masters degree with 15 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13 years of prior relevant experience.
1. Experience with one of the large cloud-computing infrastructure solutions similar to AWS or Elastic MapReduce.
2. Experience supporting highly distributed applications.
3. Experience leading cross-functional technology team.
