Airborne Solutions within the Defense Group has a dynamic job opportunity for a Junior Level, Systems Engineer supporting the ARL-E program located in Manassas, VA. ARL-E is a multi-year program supporting the U.S. Army. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, integration, documentation, and testing of multiple hardware and software components and subsystems for an Airborne ISR system. You will participate in the development lifecycle such as requirements analysis and management (using DOORS); documentation, CDRL tracking, system component management, design, development, and test and evaluation of the hardware and software components developed and delivered as part of the AISR program.
-Provide mid-level systems engineering support
-Manage and maintain the program Master Component List
-Participate in developing products in support of Preliminary Design Review and the Critical Design Reviews in preparation for system design acceptance
-Apply knowledge of concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments
-Participate in analysis related to the design, development, reliability growth, and integration of the ISR system
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
-A DoD clearance is NOT required to start, however, a final Top Secret/SCI is required
-Requires a related Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree.
-Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Systems Engineering role
-Knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle
-Ability to apply System Engineering principles/process
-Possess strong problem-solving, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
-Be capable of working independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
-Strong communication skills to interface with internal and external customers
-Knowledge and experience with SharePoint
-Experience using MS Visio
-10% CONUS Travel required
-Active TS/SCI clearance
-Experience analyzing, writing, and updating technical documentation
-Broad technology experience in systems engineering, requirements tracking (experience with DOORS preferred).
-Familiarity with DOD Architecture Foundation (DODAF).
