Software Developer - Position is within the ESSC/ERIDS Support Department for development and maintenance of the ERIDS and ESSC Systems.
The department's mission is to provide system engineering, software development, maintenance, test, user, and system support on the behalf of the FAA.
Position requires continual customer contact with good "people skills" a must.
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Ability to maintain and update system scripts and programs needed for operations.
BS in computer science, engineering, or other pertinent technical field
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Unix/Linux Operating system, Oracle or other RDMS, Scripting knowledge, good communications skills,
