Statistician/Mathematician to provide support and author finished products to a U.S. Intelligence Community Agency.

Primary Responsibilities

The Statistician/Mathematician shall develop and apply fundamental mathematics, mathematical or statistical theory to collect, organize, interpret and summarize illicit finance and other data to generate usable information to advance understanding of transnational criminal networks and trends. This will include:

Applying mathematical theories and statistical methods to solve practical all-source analytic problems in support of all phases of the intelligence cycle and develop mathematical or statistical models of phenomena for analysis or computational simulation.

Exploiting new data sources and the integration of AI/machine learning to perform modeling/simulation and conceptualize “big data.”

Designing metrics-projects that apply valid scientific techniques and utilize information obtained from baselines or historical data to structure analyses.

Integrating baseline data associated with broader agency modernization initiatives and database programs of record. Plan and perform data collection for projects, determining types / sizes of sample groups and prepare data for processing by organizing information and checking for inaccuracies.

Processing large amounts of data for statistical modeling and graphic analysis (metrics) and seek opportunities to engage with partners to expand access to strategic and operationally relevant data.

Developing computer code to automate the collecting and processing of data.

Producing results of analyses in graphs, charts, tables, and metrics.

Basic Qualifications

  • Four to six years of related work experience
  • Experience with analysis dealing with current intelligence and/or law enforcement issues
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Very detailed oriented
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
