Join Leidos' NMIC Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) team and serve as the Database Administrator for the Maritime Intelligence Environment (MIE) Systems Support Task. All work is performed onsite in Suitland, MD. An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.
The Database Administrator will provide highly technical expertise in providing business application solutions. The DBA will utilize their understanding of hardware/software, communication environments and related peripheral equipment. The DBA will specify proper types of file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures and advise contractor project teams on the design of complex databases (e.g., schema and subschema details). The DBA will define specialized aspects of user's data base administrator documentation and perform detailed comparisons of various data base systems.
Additional responsibilities include:

*Providing expertise in data storage systems
*Developing backup and archival policies and procedures
*Configuring storage systems software to meet requirements
*Performing administration tasks (installing, maintaining, monitoring, recovering, rebuilding, upgrading, patching and performance tuning)
*Implementing software solutions for performance enhancement, job scheduling and increased user capability
Minimum Required Qualifications
BS in CS, Engineering, Data Management or related discipline and 4+ years of relevant experience OR a MS and 2+ years of experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Active TS/SCI clearance
4+ years of experience with database administration
2+ years of DBA experience with Linux /UNIX (Solaris 10+) environments including shell script development and debugging
Experience with database tuning to accommodate complex queries against large databases with an excess of a million records
SQL and PL-SQL programming/scripting skills
Experience with interconnection of content repositories
Knowledge of cloud services and data storage
Security+(CE), GSEC or SSCP industry certification (or education) is required prior to start date
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Cloud Data Warehouse (e.g. Redshift)
Experience with Oracle ASM and clustering
Familiar with Database Security Accreditation processes (STIGs, etc)
Experience with Exadata systems administration and performance tuning
