Job Description:

Leidos is seeking an experienced and trained industrial security professional to serve as Security Specialist for Leidos San Diego and its offsite locations within San Diego County. Leidos San Diego offers security professionals a unique opportunity to serve as part of a large security staff group supporting a range of contracts, customers, and internal business groups.

Primary Responsibilities
-Provide fingerprinting and citizenship verification services
-Assist employees with completing paperwork required for background investigations

-Assist with classified document control

-Assist with security investigations
-Ensure that employees are approved and briefed for access to information, and are debriefed when needed, in accordance with government regulations, and with local and corporate policies
-Ensure that employees are trained in the procedures and reporting requirements that must be adhered to in order to maintain their access
-Provide managers and hosts of meetings and visits with confirmation that attendees are appropriately cleared and briefed to participate in the meeting, visit or program
-Proactively promote and monitor employee conduct as required to ensure that the facility complies with government regulations and company policies that are under the management and oversight of the FSO and that relate to employee access to information
-Record and report personnel security and document control information and issues
-Provide document marking guidance to employees
-Create and maintain document control records
-Create and maintain personnel security records
-Document compliance and non-compliance, as required by government regulations or local or corporate policies; address non-compliance in coordination with security and program management
-Assist in the creation and revision of document control and personnel security policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent  and 3+ years of experience.
•Active DoD  Secret security clearance eligibility must be to obtain a DOD Top Secret
•Strong oral and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
•Working knowledge of the NISPOM, and of government databases that must be utilized by the FSO and members of the FSO’s staff for NISPOM compliance, such as JPAS, DISS and NISS
•3 years industrial security experience
•Industrial security experience involving maintenance of a large volume of personnel security clearances, or large inventory of controlled documents or media

Preferred Qualifications
•5 years industrial security experience
•Bachelor's degree or leadership experience
•Industrial security experience involving a large cleared facility
