Job Description:

Leidos currently have an opening for a Satellite Communications Engineer (Consultant) at Cannon AFB NM to work within the AFSOC remote piloted aircraft operations center.  This position is to provide subject matter expertise for satellite command and control circuits and frequencies for remotely piloted aircraft and associate systems. 

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position include troubleshooting satellite communications problems with the site, research, testing and training the site personnel. This position requires quarterly travel to Hurlburt Field FL. The person will work with the site leads to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact to the overall work. Individual will be required to work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments and may assist other technical staff with tasks, assignments and training. Individual will also be responsible for explaining technical solutions, practices and procedures to the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires experience working with satellite controlled remote piloted aircraft and extensive experience with beyond line of site remote piloted aircraft. 
  • BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working within an Air Force RPA operations center managing satellite command and control systems.
