The Leidos Innovations Center has an opening for an engineer to help develop embedded software, FPGA firmware, and ground station software for the next generation of Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) payloads.
Develop, test, and integrate software and firmware running on space qualified CPUs and/or FPGAs that implement the payload command and control as well as image processing algorithms for the detection and tracking of targets.
Engineering degree preferably in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or computer science. Experience with C, C++, Java, Windows, Linux, and embedded RTOS’ such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, FreeRTOS, etc.
Experience with VHDL firmware development using Vivado and FPGA simulation tools such as RivieraPro, ModelSim, or similar toolsets.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DOD security clearance.
Must be available for 10-20% travel.
Must have a Bachelors Degree and less than 2 years of experience.
An active Secret or higher level security clearance.
4-6 years relevant experience
A master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or computer science.
Experience with hard, real-time systems, especially closed loop systems and tracking algorithms.
