Job Description:

The Defense group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer to work in Springfield, VA or Denver, CO on the RECON project, in support of the NGA's Research Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in an R&D environment and support critical warfighter missions.

The Systems Engineer will support the NGA Denver Research Team as the liaison between Denver, RLE Labs Support, and HPC team at NCE. Candidate will be very hands-on, working closely aligned with the Denver Research Projects to assist them with their hardware and software engineering needs, deployments and technical challenges, whether it's within the cloud AWS/C2S or in NGA's on-premise accelerated compute environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors with 8+ years of directly related experience or Masters with 6+ years
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Experience in Linux systems engineering,
  • Experience with micro-services support with Docker or Singularity (managing and supporting the environment, not development)
  • Exposure to NGA's Scale effort or Apache Mesos

Desired experience:

  • Understanding of the following systems and technologies:  DCGS FoS, Kafka, NIFI, HIVE, HADOOP
  • Working knowledge of the DoD, with an understanding of different service components, Combat Support Agencies, and Combatant Command mission sets
  • Familiarity w/ Xacta and NGA TATO/ATO process
  • Understanding of GEOAxIS and NPE Certs
