Job Description:

The Health Group is seeking a Senior Cold Fusion Developer and software lead as part of a software development organization that will work in Agile teams to support the FDA SIRCE contract.  This position will be onsite in our office in Baltimore, MD.

The SIRCE program supports the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) critical work to safeguard the foods, drugs, devices, biologics, and veterinary products that the Agency regulates. The program is split into two investments – Systems for Inspections, Recalls, Compliance Enforcement (SIRCE) and Imports.

The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining high volume ColdFusion applications. Must be comfortable in a hands-on development role and able to work with a varied technology stack and toolset. Ability to develop technical solutions, and document the solution architecture and design using standard design tools. The candidate will demonstrate design experience and be willing to challenge other team member's designs as well as receive and incorporate feedback. The candidate will be responsible for creating maintainable, adaptable, scalable, defect-free code using software development best practices and coding standards (i.e. software reuse, refactoring, continuous integration, test automation, secure development, static code analysis, peer/code review).

Required Skills:

BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Experience with ColdFusion, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, Database Design, JSON, Oracle, PL/SQL, including 2+ years of experience in JavaScript and 5+ years of experience in Oracle PLSQL
  • Must possess significant ColdFusion expertise along with JavaScript, and database tuning knowledge
  • Strong Java skillset with the desire to program with ColdFusion
  • Understands existing application and implements fixes, resolves defects and maintains parts of the application written in ColdFusion and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
  • Understands browser specific compatibility issues and resolves any cross-browser issues.
  • Works collaboratively and consistently with the team.
  • Enhance the existing application as per the business needs.
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective and efficient solutions that meet business requirements
  • Report appropriately to managers and document any processes.
  • EPLC lifecycle experience and documentation
  • Proven communication and team leadership skills
  • Requires ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.

  • Additional Skills (Desired):

  • Experience working with JSON, XML and CSS
  • JIRA and ALM
  • FDA customer experience
  • Ability to read technical documentation (API docs, Language references, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage to deadlines
  • ColdFusion administration knowledge and experience
