We have a requirement for a Procurement professional to join our busy Procurement team for a fixed term of 12 months, covering Maternity.
The Procurement department is responsible for governance, organisational development and execution of the functions associated with the proposal, administration, compliance and risk management of supplier contracts across the company.
We are looking for someone able to work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. The role holder will be responsible for entire projects or processes and report in to the Head of Strategic Sourcing.
Typical duties include:
- supplier order negotiation and administration;
- supplier development, sourcing, and supply-base diversity and cost management
- supplier relationship management
- supplier regulatory compliance, System (Purchasing) compliance
- supplier risk management.
Dealing with events that require understanding of a broader set of issues – you will develop solutions to problems and issues that are unclear and require thorough analyses and understanding of domain knowledge.
Able to communicate with internal and client project team members and work to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
A full understanding of concepts, principles and industry practices within the procurement area and has a deep understanding of industry practices and standards within an IT oriented business or large IT function.
Ideally CIPS qualified but not essential.
