The Geospatial Data Production Portfolio of Leidos is currently seeking an intern to work in our Melbourne, Florida geospatial production facility. This opening provides the candidate with an opportunity to interact with a dynamic team of geospatial professionals while learning real world geospatial production methods and capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for analyzing geographic information about the earth's surface and the objects found on it as well as providing technical and analytical support to address issues such as environmental management, exploration, mining, etc. Duties may include compiling geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps as well as analyzing spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies. Develops geospatial products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories and concepts pertaining to production and analysis of geospatial data.

Duties may include compiling geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps as well as analyzing spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies. Develops geospatial products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories and concepts pertaining to production and analysis of geospatial data.

Basic Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's granting program in a related discipline.
  • Basic working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and/or ArcPRO in a geospatial data production environment.
  • Familiarity with geospatial concepts and applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel
  • Ability to obtain a government issued clearance - US Citizenship required. (Clearance not required to start)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of geospatial data production techniques and capabilities using the ESRI suite of geospatial tools.
