Based in our RAF Lakenheath client’s office this role will provide full project management duties for the development, design and delivery of construction project works in accordance with the Client’s requirements for works ranging in value from £100,000 to over £3 million. You will be a team player and able to support the delivery of multiple projects and provide advice and support to the client’s project managers, planners, and tradesmen. You will work directly with the client to ensure requirements are clearly captured and embodied in the US approval and funding documents to initiate projects for execution via the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) delivery partner or directly under US Air Force procurement route.
You will be required to assist in establishing the client's requirements, applying the UK & MOD statutory and mandatory design and construction standards and the US Regulations and standards to ensure project requirements adequately account for both UK & US requirements. Your main focus will be defence sector projects, and you will be expected to interface daily with the US client, US agencies, UK agencies and associated design consultants and contractors.
You will leverage your knowledge and experience in a collaborative working environment comprised of both US civilian / military and UK professionals from across a multitude of disciplines to manage projects and deliver to challenging timelines. You will also coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible to deliver a complete and useable facility to fulfil the client’s needs.
As PM you will lead the assessment and review of the design/AE consultant or contractor’s designs and provide necessary coordination of approving agencies compiling consolidated design review report to document. The PM will also provide architectural and engineering insight during the project and will possess a full appreciation of construction-related technical standards (including Regulatory compliance) and the ability to challenge project costs.
Liaison with and leadership of the wider project team will be essential to ensure a full, current and accurate understanding of the project deliverables and progress against those. You will have a thorough knowledge of CDM and related construction H&S legislation and monitor the application of those requirements via the contracting route selected holding the delivery partners to account.
You will be responsible for regularly updating the clients project management data base to ensure necessary data is captured and remains current. As required, you will provide project related presentations to leadership.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with well-developed and demonstrable professional skills with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, with at least the last three in the UK working in the building sector.

• Member of Association of Project Management (MAPM) or Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Project Management/Engineering/Construction related degree
• Knowledge of Building, Premises, Health & Safety (including CDM Regulations) and Fire legislation.
• Five or more years of demonstrable experience, with the last three in the UK construction sector.
• SC clearance or suitability for SC clearance
• Evidence of working collaboratively with clients and suppliers to deliver positive results
• Strong understanding of formal project management procedures and techniques.
• Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a diverse and multidiscipline team
• A full UK driving licence is desirable as you may be required to travel to other sites across the UK
• Experience working with/for U.S. Visiting Forces
• Hold a valid CSCS card or be able to obtain one through experience and testing
