Job Description:

Leidos Corporate Group is looking for a Senior Systems Management Engineer to join our CIO Services team in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will provide overall engineering support for enterprise monitoring solutions for Leidos CIO, with a focus on server monitoring, applications monitoring,  and overall management solutions,  in our large hybrid on-prem/cloud environment.  You will support the full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, documentation, and implementation following defined best practices and operational workflows.  

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve  monitoring across all our monitoring tools
  • Investigate new technologies related to monitoring, including running structured proof of concepts  (POC)
  • Help engineer and deploy the future of our hybrid enterprise monitoring.
  • Develop monitoring solutions virtualized compute, storage infrastructure and applications.  Develop rules, alerts and notifications.
  • Work with other Engineering team members, end users, and senior management to gather requirements and perform troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree coupled with 8+ years’ experience related to systems monitoring. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong systems monitoring experience, which includes server monitoring / applications monitoring in a large on-prem/cloud environment
  • Strong Microsoft Windows server and Microsoft SCOM skills
  • Experience with Scripting (Linux Shell/PowerShell), SNMP & Agent-based monitoring
  • Monitoring tools experience 
  • APM tool design and deployment experience , such as AppDynamics or Dynatrace
  • Strong SQL skills
  • US Citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance
  • ITIL Change & Configuration Management
  • Project Management

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Solarwinds tools
  • Development experience (python, php, javascript)
  • 2+ Years’ experience in app interface development, using REST API’s
  • Experience in monitoring of AWS
