The Peripheral Equipment Operator operates peripheral equipment that directly supports digital computer operations. Such equipment is uniquely and specifically designed for computer applications, but need not be physically or electronically connected to a computer. The following duties characterize the work of a Peripheral Equipment Operator: Unloads equipment delivered to the warehouse, tracks and tags new equipment as necessary. Inspects incoming orders for accuracy and damages. Works with the program logistics lead and vendor to remedy any discrepancies. Identifies equipment availability to fulfill incoming customer orders and prepares that equipment for the customer.
The employee will work with the Field Support Teams at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.The entry level computer support technician role will primarily support with the preparation and delivery of computer devices to end users. Physically unpacking new equipment hardware, tracking the hardware in the asset database, work with the fulfillment team to ensure the device is ready for customer use and physically deliver the device to the end user. Work with the center logistics lead and the PMO logistics lead to ensure inventories are accurately maintained.
