Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Network Administrator to work on a client site in Washington, DC. This role supports the network operations for an enterprise modernization project.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Leverage expertise with networking equipment, software, programming, and design to review and analyze current network processes and procedures; recommend improvements; and develop solutions for implementations.
- Work with Network Team Lead to present solutions, gain customer buy-in, and implement, manage, and maintain approved network process improvement recommendations.
- Monitor, review, analyze, performance tune, and make recommendations that will result in continued optimization of the network.
- Assist with the resolution of escalated network issues.
- Maintain technological currency with emerging network technologies and the latest network standards and incorporate findings into reports and recommendations for network enhancements.
- Research, design, and implement security solutions for network infrastructure based on ongoing network monitoring and maintenance.
- Lead projects to develop secure resilient systems; including preparing and maintaining conceptual designs, providing technical leadership, and ensuring adherence to schedule/cost/quality metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of related experience, additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Strong understanding of current and emerging network protocols; and expertise in administering subnets, virtual LANs, firewalls, VPNs, and other network appliances.
- Experience supporting Cisco and Aruba network equipment, as well as network software including Solarwinds, NetMRI, and WhatsUp Gold.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant technical certifications, such as CompTIA (Network+ and Security+ preferred), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, or VCP.
