Software Developer – Summer Intern
The Software developer Summer Intern will participate in all phases of the Software Lifecycle including research, design, develop, test and maintain enterprise system for our Leidos clients. The candidate will use various software development tools including JIRA in an Agile software development environment. This involves the use of user stories, acceptance criteria and other software engineering artifacts. The Software Developer Summer Intern will create and update all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development, and testing. The Summer Intern will review other team member’s designs and implementations, and welcome and incorporate feedback from team members’ peer reviews. The candidate will also assist in troubleshooting and fixing issues within the existing software.
This position requires someone who is proactive and passionate about ensuring the quality of software deliverables, continuous improvement, and communicate with the development teams.
- Currently working on obtaining a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Computer Science or IT related discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- Coursework with Object oriented design and development, data structures and design patterns
- Understanding of the importance of automated unit testing (i.e. jUnit) and test driven development
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and providing status on a daily basis
- Able to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-pace environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
