The Leidos Civil group has an opening for an on-site system administrator to support EPA’s NAREL (National Air and Radiation Environmental Laboratory located on Maxwell AFB located in Montgomery, AL. Leidos has been providing all facets of IT support from System Administration to Desktop support for the past two decade. Recently, one of the two networks which Leidos support was designated as a Critical Infrastructure Key Resource (CIKR). This is an exciting position allowing the individual to work closely EPA scientists’ and IT personnel in their mission of providing radiological monitoring data to support rulemaking and Emergency Response activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of current technological environments such as the Internet, Active Directory, Client/Server, Microsoft Operating System (OS) software, Active Directory, and systems implementation within a networked environment.
- Configure and maintain hardware/software in accordance with EPA standard configuration guidance
- Creating and managing non-EZTECH user and group accounts and privileges
- Implementing and supporting Agency-developed applications and emerging technologies
- Backup, restoring and archiving data
- Support remote access
- Monitoring events and statistics
- Maintain system logs and configuration change logs
- Maintaining system performance and utilization statistics
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA)
- Or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree with at least two (2) years of experience as a System Administrator or Or five (5) years of experience performing system administrator tasks.
