The Cyber and SIGINT Solutions Operation under the Intelligence Group of Leidos is seeking an experienced Sr. System Administrator with a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

PROGRAM SUMMARY: The LETMINNOW program provides operational System Administration support to our customer’s mission critical systems to include providing essential infrastructure and system security services, system monitoring and troubleshooting, Dev Ops, troubleshooting and system security posture for development/test and production environments.   The LETMINNOW program constantly strives to provide the best and most robust operational solutions for the customer to address their mission needs, all in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment composed of skilled System Administrators.

Primary Responsibilities

This candidate will provide network and system administration support for the Mission Management Investment Portfolio. These activities include providing virtual machine (VM) support, operating system and software installations and upgrades, performing backups and restores, installing patches, troubleshooting of complex systems, monitoring system logs, creating and administration of user accounts. The candidate will: - Provide complex troubleshooting of the system and architecture. - Monitor the health and status metrics and trend analysis on applications. - Provide timely and professional recommendations to the customers. - Evaluate current operating procedures and provide improvement recommendations. - Implement corrective action processes for addressing problems detected in the operational baseline in compliance with the technical task order (TTO). - Ensure that all detected problems are promptly reported, action is initiated, status is tracked and resolution is achieved without introducing additional issues or risk. - Adhere to established corrective action processes and procedures. - Provide after hour and call-in support. - Interfacing with the appropriate Government organizations for support, regarding system administration, hardware, and communications requirements.

Work in a small, integrated team environment, focused on innovating and driving solutions to meet current and future mission needs.  The team is comprised of all highly skilled System Administrators who work closely to provide System Administration support for several customer projects. Additional pay for providing On Call support – support is rotational approximately once every 4-5 weeks.  New building with motorized self-raising desks and good parking.

Basic Qualifications

  • Responsibility for providing system administration support for servers, storage and networking components
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with LINUX
  • Experience developing shell scripts
  • Experience with Virtual Environments (MachineShop, EDC) (VMWARE)
  • Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting systems
  • Requires knowledge of the customer’s Secure the Environment/Secure the Network policies (STE/STN)
  • Requires experience with addressing IAVAs and ability to apply required patches
  • Working knowledge of network firewall configurations  and configuration of network components
  • Experience with installing/loading operating system software
  • Experience with implementing operating system enhancements that improve the reliability and performance of systems
  • Experience interfacing with the appropriate Government organizations for support, regarding system and database administration, hardware, storage and communications requirements
  • Must be able to interact effectively with developers, system stakeholders, and the Customer
  • Experience with System accreditation processes
  • Rotational On Call support required – approximately once a month or less
  • Requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
  • Must have ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.                                                                                                                                                     
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 
  • Three (3) years of additional System Administrator experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.  

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of automated software installation and system configuration tools such as puppet and/or ansible

Knowledge of system monitoring tools such as Nagios

Experience working in a customer facing role

Strong Communication skills
