Job Description:
Leidos has a potential opening for an Information Technologist to support the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Experimental Therapeutics Branch, Department of Drug Development. The Information Technologist will provide technical support for laboratory information management system (LIMS) design, administration, security and information assurance. Position will work directly with Branch researchers to provide information management support and services for ongoing drug discovery and development efforts, and will function as a liaison between the customer, the Experimental Therapeutics Branch, and the WRAIR Division of Information Management in an effort to ensure all IT operations are in compliance with Army Information Assurance requirements.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Branch and third-party vendors providing the LIMS and server operation to include: overall system monitoring and reporting to COR
Serve as the technical contact during the resolution of any system problems; providing local technical support to users
Performing as the Branch’s technical expert on any proposed changes to the system.
Basic Qualifications
- BS Degree in a related discipline with 5 or more years of experience.
- Maintain training required to obtain and maintain technical expertise to consistently, effectively perform job duties.
- Conduct will be professional and strive to keep communications clear, concise, and meet the objectives of the customer.
- Attend and present at relevant national scientific conferences, as required by the Government.
- Possess or have ability to obtain Secret Clearance
- Must be US Citizen
- Possess or have ability to obtain Security+ or the GSEC Security Certification for compliance with DoD Directive 8570
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at military/government location.
