Leidos is looking to staff software development positions that will be located onsite at a Government facility located in Huntsville, AL and provides development of applications to enable and support complex data, voice, audio, and electrical systems. Position will function primarily within a laboratory environment, work within a medium sized development team under the leadership of senior software engineers and other specialists, and support the implementation of applications with teams doing hands-on support related to experimental data management, electrical, power and cabling requirements and adaptation of systems supporting critical mission specific test capabilities as required.
Junior software engineers will work within a team of other developers providing the hands –on implementation of designs and components specific to defined applications as prioritized and funded by the Government site management. Junior software engineers will function under the team leadership, interacting with Scrum leads, providing hands-on programming and documentation for subsystems and/or stand-alone specialized applications. Opportunities may be available to participate in more complex tasks as evidenced by on-going program success. Engineers are expected to be able to interpret specifications and requirements from individual tasks and capabilities to create solutions for the appropriate application components and systems. Position will involve creation of standard software documentation such as test procedures and plans.
Successful candidates must possess an active DOD Secret clearance at time of start of employment. Candidates are required to possess a BS in computer science or related fields. A successful candidate needs at least 2 years of demonstrated experience in applications development and have specific examples of successful deployment of applications in a user environment.
Preference will be given to engineers with experience within a test environment in software test labs or software test experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have existing hands-on experience within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) field of operations. Preference will also be given to software engineers who can demonstrate a familiarity with cybersecurity concerns and DevSecOps environments for Software development.
