The Logistics & Mission Support (L&MS) Organization at Leidos is currently seeking a Transportation Manager for the ASP/TSA program in Kuwait.
Reports directly to the Operations Manager. Responsible for the overall coordination of transportation, movement control, and container management operations required to support the Ammunition Supply Point/Theater Storage Area (ASP/TSA) – Kuwait program.
Directs safe transportation and movement control operations for the ASP/TSA program supporting US-military operations in the CENTCOM AOR. Maintains liaison with external military and civilian organizations to coordinate international multimodal shipments based on operational priorities. Manages daily operations of the Leidos Movement Control Team to ensure a safe and efficient flow of cargo. Ensures compliance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG), and Code of Federal Regulations 49 (49-CFR). Coordinate and oversee the allocation of contracted tractor-trailer trucks throughout the program’s various operational sites. Serves as the program’s SME for matters pertaining to the Defense Transportation System. Responsible for completing all documents required for hazardous certification of shipments originating from applicable sites.
Manages and oversees an inventory of over 4,000 ISO-containers used for storage and shipment of munitions. Provides In-Transit Visibility of shipments, as required, using the available DTS systems (i.e., IGC, RF-ITV). Responsible for maintaining a Joint Container Management system account to manage the program’s container inventory for applicable locations.
Manages a fleet of fifty-four company leased vehicles and provides oversight of leasing agencies to ensure adherence to subcontract requirements. Monitors vehicle usage, tracks, forecasts, and schedules required maintenance services. Performs quality control checks of services performed by external support agencies. Maintains records of Leased Vehicles (accident reports, usage logs, and services).
BS Degree or High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years of experience in transportation and logistics management, preferably a background in MOS 88N or service equivalent. Must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team. Must demonstrate the ability to resolve problems as they arise to achieve mission success. Must possess, or be able to obtain, a certification for the Transportation of Hazardous Materials (AMMO-62). Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English Language. Must possess and retain a SECRET security clearance.
