Leidos is seeking a Sr Algorithms Development Engineer in the Tewksbury, MA area in support of our Security, Detection and Automation business.

Job Description Summary:

The Sr Algorithms Developer is part of a machine learning algorithm development team and participates with hands-on contributions on advanced detection and computer vision algorithms, and associated supporting software infrastructure.

Will design and develop new and modified features and implement algorithms and machine learning infrastructure into software applications for our security systems software releases.  He/she will also develop and integrate algorithms and associated features into next-generation security detection systems.

This role  will participate in the design, development, documentation, unit testing and debugging, and integration of algorithm software.  He/she will collaborate with other engineers and algorithm scientists in the planning, design, development, and utilization of product and internal tools software. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C++ and Python code using good software engineering techniques.

•Decomposition complex software development projects into manageable tasks and providing level of effort development estimates

•Interfacing with other software teams to interface, integrate, and deploy algorithm component with external software components

•Re-architecting, refactoring, and improving of software quality of existing code

•Review, evaluate, and provide suggestions for software developed by team members

Qualifications:

•BS, Computer Science or related field and minimum 6 years job experience.

•Proficient in C++ and Python

•Familiarity with modern software architecture and design patterns

•Familiar with threaded, multi-process, and messaging architectures

•Experience developing high-performance algorithmic software, including profiling and optimization of algorithm speed and memory usage

•Experience developing software tests and debugging

•Familiarity with PyTorch framework

•Familiar with GUI development using QT framework

•Familiarity with machine learning algorithms / data science
