The Enterprise and Cyber Solutions Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior individual to lead our Cyber Security efforts in support of an innovative 5G Test Bed for a Smart Warehouse out of our San Diego CA location.  This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of 5G technology and use your experience to help our Department of Defense customer navigate within the Risk Management Framework process to obtain/maintain their Authority to Operate. 

Primary Responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing risks related to the use of processing, storing, or transmitting information to reduce or eliminate impact to confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information and information systems. The candidate in this position will perform a wide variety of security related tasks each with a compliance or risk based focus. Business objectives are aligned to IT Security Strategy while effectively meeting compliance demands (regulatory and non-regulatory). Duties may include but are not limited to; managing and enforcing security policies, training and educating end-users on proper security practices, conducting security and risk assessments using security frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, Common Criteria, etc.), mitigating risk via security controls, testing and evaluation to certify and accredit commercial security products, ensuring privacy of data throughout its lifecycle, vulnerability management (scanning, assessment, reporting, and mitigation verification), business continuity and disaster recovery. In addition the candidate may be responsible for a combination of duties to protect information and maintain security controls for an entire system, site, or program in order to reduce risk.  Mentors and coaches other technical staff. Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program. Leads the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.

Requires ability to communicate with senior executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization/project. Typically negotiates and compromises to convince internal and external parties to accept concepts, practices and approaches of the area. Requires highest knowledge and mastery of highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Viewed as a subject matter expert and within the field by peers within and outside the organization. 

Basic Qualifications

  • MS degree and 15 – 20 years of prior relevant experience in order to operate within the scope contemplated by the level. Additional experience or education may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have a Secret clearance and be TS eligible.
  • CISSP certification

  • Previously worked on other Navy projects requiring RMF packages.
