The Defense Group is seeking a Systems Engineer (mid-level), to work at our Aberdeen, MD location, in support of a U.S. Army program that upgrades, and enhances the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities of their airborne reconnaissance fleet. A dynamic, multi-faceted role in which you are a part of a multi-company team, to integrate Mission Equipment Payloads into aircraft, perform system checkout, support the Test & Evaluation team throughout the Contractor Testing and system fielding. This role encompasses assisting leadership with the technical oversight, and day-to-day design, development, integration and testing of a hardware and software system architecture to support the AISR system, to include the integration of government, and civilian software solutions, airborne sensors, and hardware, into various operating systems.
-Plan, engineer, test, and deploy IT solutions to complex, multi-sensor, airborne system
-Support process improvements and provides systems analysis for missions, systems requirements
-Integration of government and contractor primary mission equipment and software
-Develop and implement equipment baseline standards to be used fleet wide
-Use proven techniques to produce stable, clean, and repeatable IT solutions
-Create and update documentation associated with integration activities
-Testing software compatibility with overall system
-Performance of subsystem Integration Assembly Test and Checkout
-Troubleshooting to isolate system faults and perform repairs
-Travel to the aircraft platform to integrate, and test solutions
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
- A current DoD Top Secret /SCI clearance with the ability to maintain this level of clearance
- Obtain and maintain a CompTIA Security+ Certification within 90 days of hire
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline with 4+ years’ of experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of related experience; additional years of related work experience required in lieu of a degree
- Civilian and/or military experience with Airborne programs
- Possess strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Outlook).
- Must have the ability to identify innovative solutions to extremely complex, multi-faceted technical problems
- A minimum of 25% travel may be required to support activities at each of the primary duty locations as well as CONUS test ranges.
