Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer who wants to work on a new agile DevSecOp project in an IC DoD customer space.  Leidos is building a new team to develop new structure and applications for our customer. This role designs, develops, and maintains software applications using a tailored SAFe Agile DevSecOps process, based on the various mission objectives. The objectives and challenges range, and so should the processes. This role uses best practices and patterns to perform design, development, automated testing, and automated deployment of software modules via DevSecOps Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). Duties also include software requirements analysis, risk identification, risk mitigation, and collaboration across Agile teams. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Employing and utilizing a range of technologies, ranging but not limited to Micro Services, Web Services, Service Mesh, Java, and JavaScript. Duties include coordination with Data Scientists and ASW Cloud Engineers who utilize Python and R.  Development will be done on all levels of Customer Networks. Serves in a position of leadership over critical objectives where decision making is of utmost concern to the outcome.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications using a tailored SAFe Agile DevSecOps process, based on the various mission objectives.
  • Use best practices and patterns to perform design, development, automated testing, and automated deployment of software modules via DevSecOps Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
  • Perform software requirements analysis, risk identification, risk mitigation, and collaboration across Agile teams.
  • Perform software systems development, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products. This also includes software tools and scripting languages used for design, development and maintenance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure and platforms.
  • Duties include coordination with Data Scientists and ASW Cloud Engineers who utilize Python and R. Development will be done on all levels of Customer Networks. 
  • Responsible for identifying software and hardware dependencies and capacities.
  • Negotiate complex scenarios and challenges and devise courses of action to resolve situations with predictable outcomes.
  • Serve in a position of leadership over critical objectives where decision making is of utmost concern to the outcome.
  • May mentor and/or supervise others.

Basic Qualifications

  • Possess expert knowledge of software engineering to design, develop, and maintain software applications using a tailored SAFe Agile DevSecOps process in a field bolstered with significant experience and advanced education and training; may be recognized within the technical community as a leader in his/her field.
  • Possess experience in the software engineering field that includes extensive accomplishments, recognition by peers, training, and/or certifications directly related to the discipline.
  • Possess knowledge and experience using best practices and patterns to perform design, development, automated testing, and automated deployment of software modules via DevSecOps Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
  • Possess experience performing software requirements analysis, risk identification, risk mitigation, and collaboration across Agile teams including identifying software and hardware dependencies and capacities.
  • Possess experience with software systems development, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products. This also includes software tools and scripting languages used for design, development and maintenance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure and platforms.
  • Possess ability to negotiate complex scenarios and challenges and devise courses of action to resolve situations with predictable outcomes.
  • Possess experience serving in a position of leadership over critical objectives where decision making is of utmost concern to the outcome.
  • Possess ability and experience to mentor, supervise, and manage team members. 
  • This candidate must have a minimum of a Master's degree with 15-20 years of experience; or a Doctorate with 13-16 years of experience. Years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.

Security Clearance Requirement

An active TS/SCI with Poly required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with flexible cross-training to also provide systems engineering, software development, training, security, and testing is desired.
  • Doctorate with 13-16 years of prior relevant experience.
