The Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) is seeking an Autonomous Systems Solution Architect. The Solution Architect will work with other senior leaders in the LInC, the Office of Technology (OoT), and across Leidos to support the development and strategy for multi-domain autonomy applications.
Lead the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.
Provide technical advice/input that impacts strategic client outputs and Leidos business results.
Develop new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program.
Communicate with senior executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization/project.
Negotiate and compromise to convince internal and external parties to accept concepts, practices and approaches of the area.
Mentor and coach other technical staff.
Leading teams of engineers and scientists
Developing and delivering autonomous solutions in a range of technology areas: Perception and situational understanding, planning and decision-making, behavior and action execution, collaboration, and manned-unmanned teaming.
Knowledge of DoD systems, missions, CONOPS and organizations.
Ability to communicate effectively about autonomy and AI with a broad range of audiences, from internal leaders to external customers and from sophisticated AI researchers to those with little or no relevant background.
Position requires an active Secret clearance therefore US Citizenship is required to be eligible. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a TS/SCI security clearance.
Master's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline with 15+ years of experience.
7+ years of technical leadership within major AI-based autonomous systems in industry, academia, or government.
Systems engineering and integration experience highly desired.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of many areas of AI (Machine Learning, Bayesian, fuzzy, Dempster-Shafer, or symbolic reasoning) and related key technical disciplines including: Mobile / embedded / edge-based / cloud / hybrid containerized deployment architectures
Knowledge of sensor systems and advanced processing techniques.
Familiarity with relevant open standards in industry and DoD (e.g. JAUS, OMS, FACE)
Familiarity with CPU/GPU/FPGA-based computation
Familiarity with secured data including multi-level classified data
