Job Description:

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a mid-level Intelligence Planner to work at Fort Belvoir VA, in support of our G35 INSCOM client. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to support the INSCOM Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Support Services contract by providing your Intelligence planning expertise.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The candidate will provide support to priority missions using: The Army Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), The Operations Process and Army Design Methodology (ADM) IAW Unified Land Operations, Army Doctrine Reference Publication (ADRP) 3-0, Unified Land Operations, Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 3-0, The Operations Process (ADP) 5-0, Army Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures No. 5-0.1 (ATTP 5-0.1), FM 6-0 Commander and Staff Organization and Operations AR 25-50, Preparing and Managing Correspondence, and unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • The candidate will conduct analysis of, and develop recommendations for, the planning, preparation, and execution of operations and assess operations from initial concept or task until the mission or operation is complete for a specific event, phased operation, or recurring task, mission, or operation. The candidate will coordinate with Operational Planning Teams (OPT) spanning higher echelons, multiple Army units, intelligence disciplines, and interagency partners to discuss the analysis and recommendations.
  • The candidate will analyze and develop recommendations regarding planning, management, and updated requirements for Requests for Forces (RFFs), exercises, exercise-support missions, technology protection operations, and long-range calendar. The candidate will evaluate initiatives and special projects, INSCOM’s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), and conferences or events.
  • The candidate will develop recommendations to plan, manage, update, and execute support to special events to include special engagements, guest speakers, senior level briefings, and very important person (VIP) briefings.
  • The candidate will: provide analysis for systems integration for the modernization of the force;  provide analysis of special projects, such as Town Halls, Commander’s Conferences, Off-sites, and transition plans; and provide recommendations to develop, maintain, update, and terminate associated SOPs or other repositories of information (i.e. SharePoint and websites).
  • The candidate will provide products in the form of briefings, recommendations for plans or orders (e.g., Concepts of Operations (CONOPs), Operational Plans (OPLANs), Warning Orders (WARNOs), Operations Orders (OPORDs), Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOs), and Annexes) and recommendations for other staff writing (i.e. Memorandums for Record, After Action Reports, White Papers, and Intelligence Summaries) to decision makers.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA degree with 8+ years experience or Masters with 6+ years experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must possess a TS/SCI
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

Training:

1. Completion of Army Command and General Staff College, Intermediate Level Education (Common Core and Advanced Operations Course/credentialing course), or a program of instruction conferring JPME I (Service equivalent defined in CJCSI 1800.01E CH 1, 30 Jun 16).

2. Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

3. Bachelor’s Degree (presumed upon completion of JPME I)

Experience: Minimum of 8 years combined experience in the following fields:

1. Division or higher-level planner (2 years or more)

2. Intelligence (3 years or more)

* Creditable experience in distinct fields cannot be combined to meet the minimum total years (see above). College education does not substitute for experience.

Required Skills, as demonstrated in resume:

1. Strong oral and written communication.

2. Ability to clearly express oneself verbally

3. Ability to write in a clear, concise manner

4. Familiarity with various Intelligence Community software/systems.

5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

6. Ability to work in a high-operational tempo environment.

7. Ability to work both independently or as a member of a team.

8. Ability to negotiate.

9. Ability to perform other duties, responsibilities and activities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong personal organization communications skills to include briefing senior officers, preparing and presenting briefings, white papers, and other correspondence.
