Leidos is seeking a Senior NC3 Technical Editor to support our United States Strategic Command Systems Engineering & Integration (USSTRATCOM SE&I) customer. Our customer serves as principal enterprise systems engineering, enterprise architecture, cyber resilience, and technical authority for the Nuclear C3 Enterprise (NEC) within DoD and oversee systems engineering and integration for the entire nuclear C3 Enterprise.
Work performed at Ft Meade, MD (DISA Headquarters). Active Final Top Secret required/SCI preferred. Teleworking authorized during COVID-19 customer building restrictions.
The NC3 Technical Editor will perform a full range of editing and desktop publishing services for the classified and unclassified production of technical documents, complex illustrations, graphic products, and briefing materials. A desktop publishing capability is required to support this classified program. Pre-determined deliverables are identified for each option year. The support also is required in “on-demand” time-frames; similar to technical editing support for proposals. Additional responsibilities involve managing the inputs for program management reports such as Weekly POA&Ms, Monthly Status Reports, etc. as well as tracking team administrative requirements (e.g., training compliance, in/out-boarding staff, etc.)
Maintain Customer’s Style Guidance Documentations. Provide full range of editing/desktop publishing services for the production of technical documents, complex illustrations, graphic products and briefing materials. Utilize understanding and technical expertise regarding the process, the required contents, the customers, and the systems involved to prepare technical documents. Content involves the description of technical details of the U.S. Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems capabilities, relevant style Manuals, and Security Classification Manuals. Perform quality control reviews of all products to assure the technical accuracy and consistency of the documents as well as conformance with appropriate DoD and DISA manuals and good grammatical practices. Review technical documents and reports and make edits to improve style, uniformity, readability, and grammar.
- Knowledge of NC3 Systems
- Bachelor's degree in communication, English, journalism, or equivalent work experience in a Federal government-contracting environment and 12+ years of experience.
- Extensive expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, Graphic programs, Visio.
- Ability to edit, audit, and convert large classified documents (e.g., 300 pages) to desktop publishing quality.
- Familiarity with hyperlinking complex flow diagrams.
- Familiarity with document conversions into and from PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Adobe PDF, etc.
- Prior experience in supporting the publication of large, complex collaborative documents in time constrained environment.
