Job Description:

The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is seeking Senior Test Automation Engineers with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) Interface and Support Processes division within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States.

In this hands on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best solutions based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. You will participate in and/or direct all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing. This role will support test planning and execution on an exciting new technology program from requirements definition through testing.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Provide technical leadership for government identified projects to include in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining program.  Emphasis will be placed on projects associated with automating testing for select products.
•Lead implementation of Test Driven Development (TDD) practices within the program’s agile framework to ensure the proper degree of engineering rigor is applied to all assigned tasks.
•Interface with software developers, analysts, and other project team members using the Agile SCRUM methodology.
•Be involved in analyses and the investigation of related applications engineering tasks and prepares design specifications, analysis, and recommendations.
•Translating and interpreting functional requirements into test cases.
•Support transition of existing manual test cases to automated testing to support DevOps.
•Perform regression testing until automated, covering full suite of Operational Test Scenarios for builds and/or images to be delivered to customer.
•Develop test data to support either manual or automated testing.
•Prepare test report summarizing test results including anomalies, systems errors, and configuration changes.
•Support the software configuration management process and understand software components and their interface requirements.
•Verify specific action or function of code and demonstrate successfully to customer.
•Assist software developers in establishing automated regression testing.
•Support Customer Demonstration, data prep and UAT activities.

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other closely related field with a minimum of 8-years of relevant experience or 6-10 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree.
•Applicants must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a CBP BI public trust clearance.
•8+ years of experience in agile software development with emphasis on software testing, test data management and test automation
•Technical expertise in software development including fluency in one or more popular programming languages and frameworks, e.g., Java and Angular.
•4+ years of experience with DevOps, continuous integration and source control tools, e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube.
•Experience with agile development and testing methodologies
•Proven experience working on a multidisciplinary team
•4+ years of experience effectively utilizing test automation tools like Selenium, Citrus, and security scanning tools to reduce manual testing
•Experience with automation tools/techniques to conduct performance/load testing.
•Experience with issue/problem tracking tools, e.g., JIRA.
•Prior experience evaluating new test tools and techniques, presenting business case to product lead and customer, and facilitating rollout to product team upon approval. 
•Experience mentoring both developers and junior testers on test automation best practices. 
•Lead Customer Demos and assist as requested with UAT.

Preferred Qualifications:  
•Advanced degree is desirable
•Active CBP BI
•Experience with CBP PSPD
•Experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Oracle, and MQ are a plus
•Experience with AWS environment is a plus
•Experience in Security Testing tools and practices is a plus.
