The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Warehouse Specialist for an exciting opportunity in Fallon, NV.
This position is a Warehouse Specialist for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 program at Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore CA. For this effort, the program provides repair parts support from the local JSF parts inventory to F-35 aircraft home-ported at NAS Lemoore. The Warehouse Specialist will receive, issue and perform other Supply warehouse tasks to ensure the integrity of this critical inventory. Additionally, the Warehouse specialist will package material in accordance with the Navy’s P700-CNP and perform shipping functions to move the material to the customer, including any satellite locations. The Warehouse Specialist receives daily assignments to receive, stow and issue from the inventory; may be assigned to special projects in the warehouse to design and execute efficient racking installation or improve the warehouse repair parts flow. On occasion, may provide work direction and limited guidance to other personnel related to technical issues and problem resolution. Has the Supply knowledge and experience to be able to handle unusual and seldom occurring job events with minimal assistance. May serve in a lead role if demonstrating superior Supply, inventory and warehouse knowledge. This position is for a contract that includes a base year with four option years.
Primary Responsibilities
-Provides on-site task support for warehousing, inventory, packaging and transportation for the F-35 program on behalf of Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) San Diego. These Supply tasks are technical in nature and attention to the details of each receipt, issue and inventory control function (inventory and location accuracy) is important to program efficiency and success.
-The Warehouse Specialist is integral to the efficient flow of goods and information in order to meet customer requirements.
-Ensures the timely and accurate execution of each daily task within the Quality Assurance criteria of the F-35 Warehouse Program. Tasks include but are not limited to receiving, issuing, stowing, individual part identification, documentation understanding and application, inventory maintenance, packaging, shipping preparation and movement of repair parts. A specific task is the preparation of Pack-Up-Kits (PUKs) for limited deployments and critical exercises.
-Regularly interacts with outside customers and functional peers. Interaction normally requires the ability assess accuracy of documentation, assisting the F-35 customer, to a timely issue or problem solution. The Warehouse Specialist must be comfortable operating a forklift as normally used in warehouse operations.
Basic Qualifications
A High School degree is required and at least 3 years of related Military logistics and storekeeper experience. The Warehouse Specialist must have a minimum of three (3) years of warehouse or storeroom experience with background and knowledge of the Navy spare parts. The Warehouse Specialist should have an overview knowledge of the Navy Supply System ashore. An industrious worker with a “self-starting” nature and good interpersonal skills are desired along with Forklift operations proficiency. Candidate must be physically capable of working in a warehouse environment supporting physical Supply operations that include lifting up to 50 pounds and walking distances within the warehouse.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Aviation Squadron or Fleet Readiness Center operations is desirable. Detailed knowledge of US Navy Supply Systems to include eRMS, RSUPPLY, Navy ERP and One Touch Supply including interfaced logistics systems FLIS is desirable.
