This is a mid-level Software Developer role that will be in direct support of a virtual simulation system development program, the Common Driver Trainer (CDT) Virtual Product Line (VPL). Candidate will be part of a high performing, agile software team and must be able to work well in a distributed, remote team as well as working directly on simulation system hardware when necessary. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work to a predetermined sprint schedule and to specific customer requirements. Individual will engage cross functionally with systems engineers, hardware engineers, logistics engineers, and systems integration and test personnel to build requirements-driven product line software for delivery on a DoD product line program.
Responsible for writing Virtual Simulation Software in an Agile Development SW Environment. Will design, code and unit test and demonstrated software that is integrated into a multiple aspects of a larger SW package, that is built, tested, deployed and executed on a virtual trainer or in support of a virtual trainer. Work with a large team writing different portions of the software application. Test code against hardware that forms portions of the virtual trainer.
• Bachelors in Computer Science or similar degree with 4+ years of software experience OR Masters in Computer Science or similar degree with 2+ years of software experience.
• 2-5 years’ experience in development, modification, and maintenance of real time, virtual simulation software systems
• 1-2 years’ experience in the development of software technical documentation
• C++ and Java programming competence
• Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, and Jira for software development activities
• Experience in product line development and/or maintenance
• Experience with Army and or USMC training system development
• Experience developing technical documentation per applicable data item instructions
