The Leidos Defense Group has a career opportunity for a SATCOM Planner, based at Stuttgart, Germany.
Are you interested in continuing your career in AFRICOM in a mission focused environment? Leidos Defense Group has established and upcoming positions throughout the European theater supporting multiple customers for the Department of Defense.
We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement AFRICOM’s mission objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide expert guidance and direction for the Commercial Satellite Communications (COMSATCOM) activities that encompass systems in the Commercial SHF and UHF spectrum and the GBS programs within the AOR.
Provide technical support, asset management and assignment to national level users within the Executive Branch, DoD, and other Government agencies when setting up communication channels.
Coordinate operational and programmatic issues with Regional and Functional Combatant Commanders, the SATCOM SOM, terminal and control Program Managers from all Services, and other SSEs.
Provide input to the Joint Staff, Regional and Functional Combatant Commanders and all Services on the use of current COMSATCOM assets.
Serve as the Command's focal point for technical, non-technical, architectural and administrative issues related to COMSATCOM.
Represent the CCMD, with the Joint Staff, Regional and Functional COCOMs, as well as Component commands within the AOR.

Basic Qualifications:
Must hold and maintain an active Secret Clearance.
Must be willing/able to work OCONUS for minimum of one year.
DOD 8570 IAT III compliance.
BA/BS  8-12years of experience supporting satellite communications systems or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Experience supporting geographically dispersed networks in a NOC type setting.
Experience in management of projects/tasks similar in scope and requirements to current program.
Detail oriented and organized; able to understand satellite communications evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments.
Must be able to effectively interact with staff from other sections on complex communications problems.

Preferred Qualifications:
CISSP Certification (or equivalent IAT Level III certification).
ITIL v3 Foundation Certification.
Experience supporting EUCOM and/or AFRICOM.
