The Defense Group has a dynamic opportunity for a Cybersecurity Analyst at our Aberdeen, MD location to support airborne assets with multiple network enclaves. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting the organization's information, and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording and destruction. Duties will consist of managing and enforcing security strategies and policies, within established guidelines. Areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing assessment, and authorization packages, to obtain approvals to operate in eMASS and/or Xacta, and continuous monitoring responsibilities IAW ICD 503, CNSS 1253 and NIST 800-53’s applicable revision.

Primary Responsibilities
•Consult on the design, development, and deployment of Ongoing Assessment, Ongoing Authorization, and other Information Assurance (IA) initiatives in accordance with RMF and NIST standards 
•Continuous monitoring to enforce client security policy and procedures and enforce/manage processes that will ensure visibility to system owners on impacts to the security posture of systems
•Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government and program policies.
•Monitor configuration management changes and assess the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities through security impact assessments. 
•Ensure system security requirements are addressed throughout the project, and system lifecycle, and communicate deficiencies to the Cybersecurity Manager. 
•Ensure effective controls and processes are in place, and working effectively to maintain a strong system security posture at the site level. 
•Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analyses to support Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities.
•Assist with System security A&A package submissions into eMASS and Xacta to ensure consistency, completeness and traceability ensuring compliance
•Develop, maintain, and facilitate the appropriate closure of POA&Ms 
•Manage multiple high visibility security projects and adjust to quick shifts in customer priorities while meeting mission requirements
•Perform Nessus scans, and other vulnerability tool assessments, and interpret results to provide feedback to the Cyber Security Manager, customer ISSO’s and/or Information System Security Manager (ISSM). 

Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.

•A Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience. Additional years of related experience allowed, in lieu of degree. 
•Be familiar with controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and appropriately transferring data (uploading/downloading) between information systems at varying classification levels
•Must be able to multitask, and adapt to a fast-paced environment. 
•Ability to apply analytical, customer service, and critical thinking skills.
•CompTIA Security+ CE Certification 
•A current DoD Top Secret /SCI level of clearance, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance
•Demonstrated ability to translate technical information into easily understandable / consumable data by colleagues and customer 
•10% CONUS travel 

Preferred Qualifications

•GSEC Security Essentials
•GIAC Information Security Fundamentals
•Experience conducting Nessus Compliance and Vulnerability scans 
•Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) 
•HBSS administration experience or HBSS 5.9 Administrators certification
•Experience with log management tools, in particular ManageEngine
