Key Capabilities:

The Leidos Infrastructure, Environment and Security operating unit has an opening for an Office Manager as part of a Leidos project team, to provide direct operational program support to the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Office of Defense Programs.

Work will be in the NNSA Offices located in the Department of Energy Forrestal Building in Washington, DC.

This position is responsible for a broad range of program administrative tasks for senior and executive level customers, both Federal management and military flag officers. The person in this position will exercise judgment, initiative and tact, make administrative decisions and take action on behalf of Federal management with knowledge of the organization’s policies and personnel and in accordance with established guidelines, procedures and policies. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest level of security for classified matter and personnel access and directly assists program work essential to the mission, including security and records, document management and classified matter control, document control and database management, decision based correspondence and critical briefings, interface with site offices and M&O program managers, senior NNSA management and external organizations.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position are primarily initiating, organizing and overseeing logistic and security requirements, managing correspondence, and providing administrative support to Federal and contractor project teams. This includes arranging classified and unclassified conferencing and meetings, travel, and calendars, and setting up offices and support for new personnel, overseeing classified and unclassified document management, tracking Federal financial accounts, managing facilities support, administering security procedures for access to controlled areas, facilitating senior management correspondence and communication, including researching technical, budget, and financial data and preparing briefings, memos, and correspondence and weekly reports, travel authorizations, and vouchers with minimal oversight. Responsibilities will also include maintaining awareness of and competence in headquarters initiatives for communication and information sharing.

This position is a key customer interface position with a high impact on achievement of the Office of Defense Programs’ national security mission. This position interfaces with Federal and contractor managers at the NNSA sites to collect and analyze data and provide responses and requires both tact and perseverance to frame problems and develop solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Four or more years of specialized administrative experience of an increasingly responsible nature in a Federal or government contractor organization.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Current DOE Q or active DoD TS clearance.
  • One or more years of experience in control of classified matter and secure container custodianship.
  • Demonstrable competence with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) and Federal civilian and/or military central systems.
  • Excellent written (including grammar, punctuation, and copy editing) and verbal communication skills. Experience interacting with mid-level management required; interaction with senior management level preferred.
  • Experience in nuclear weapons programs preferred.

Ability to meet deadlines, and track actions, and follow-through on multiple (often unanticipated) daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
