Leidos is seeking an Virtual Simulation Development Intern located in Orlando, FL.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Virtual Simulations Programs Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Virtual Simulation Development Intern to work in our Orlando, Florida office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and talent to assist in the Virtual Simulation Product Line mission. In this mission we research and produce technologies to advance state of the art simulations. These simulations are used to train individuals to operate vehicle/equipment at a proficiency level that would be impossible to attain without the presence of real danger and unsafe conditions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties as part of a software/hardware simulation development team. Operates given daily directions from software or hardware design engineers to conduct tasks of basic to medium complexity. Writes software, specifies scenarios, drives simulated vehicles (with and without motion platforms) over simulated terrain, analyses motion dynamics, applies software development principles and skills to develop or prove out new techniques/technologies, maintains simulation equipment, etc. Acts as part of the team to accomplish tasks required to advance the mission of the Virtual Simulations Programs Group.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Pursuing a B.S. or Graduate Degree in C.S., Software, or equivalent from an accredited university
-Experience with software such as C++, Java, Java Script, Python, etc.
-Must pass a standard background investigation.
-U.S. Citizenship required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Small task software/hardware robotic development project experiences (undergraduate)
-Conduct task analysis and complete self-directed tasks (pursuing graduate degree)
