The Leidos Defense and Intelligence Group (D&IG) has a Laboratory Technologist opening for an experienced cleared professional seeking a rewarding and challenging opportunity supporting medical services for an Intelligence Community customer. Position may be full or part-time and candidate must possess current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Laboratory Technologist be required to provide lab medicine and lab protocols. Additional duties include performing medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease to include, but not limited to, Phlebotomy/Pediatric Phlebotomy, running of lab devices, calibrations, sample processing, drug screenings, audiograms, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and vision and eye color testing. The Lab Tech will dispose of hazardous materials according to procedures. Work independently as needed to achieve day-to-day objectives. Coordinate with other medical staff as needed and communicate with internal and customer team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science (substitute 4 years experience in lieu of degree) or related field and 3-6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Ability to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.Ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic.
- Fundamental understanding of federal lab laws.
- Familiarity with various screening devices and machine calibration.
- Experience performing and supporting various lab support functions.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Detail-Oriented
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Specialized training in any area of laboratory medicine
