The Defense Group has a dynamic opportunity for a Logistics/Configuration Manager, located at our Beavercreek, Ohio office. In this role, you will perform a wide range of logistics management, configuration management (CM) and engineering data management (EDM) tasks for individual projects in support of the United States Air Force efforts related to aircraft weapon systems, subsystems, and associated equipment. Additionally, you will interact with all levels of engineering, program management, and program leadership, including CM counterparts, AFLCMC directorates and headquarters, AFRL, HQ AFMC, prime contractors and subcontractors, and other government and private sector personnel.
Primary Responsibilities
-Direct Support for DoD and USAF programs and projects focused on aircraft weapon systems, subsystems, and related equipment.
-Design, develop, and establish configuration management documentation based on prescribed standards, program requirements, and conventional best practices.
-Assist users with selecting and tailoring data item descriptions (DIDs) in MEARS; preparing one-time and standard DIDs; and filling out data management forms related to Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
-Conduct and perform product support analysis (PSA) tasks using MIL-HDBK-502A as a guide
-Conduct and perform necessary PSA to include Reliability-Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA) and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to determine, define, identify, document, and submit logistics support elements and data requirements.
-Oversee the configuration Management (CM) program for individual projects to control all aspects of CM using EIA-649 and EIA-649-1
-Identify, document, modify and manage current and newly developed hardware configuration items IAW EIA-649-1
-Administratively provide, track, and maintain current status of CDRLs pertaining to logistics and CM tasks
-Detail the Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) for individual project items IAW USG approved PHS&T requirements
-Prepare documentation, coordinate, and lead internal Configuration Control Boards.
-Conduct closeout actions and archive all CM documentation. Report CCB status to leadership.
-Work with government and contractor engineers to identify and provision ground support equipment (GSE) to support engineering design efforts, follow on production, and flight test demonstration efforts as applicable.
-Review production engineering changes, waivers, deviations, and/or alterations for their impact on performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, quality, safety and life cycle cost.
-Provide technical analysis at pre/post-publication reviews and verification reviews of technical orders for both MIL-STD and COTS
-Plan, draft, and monitor data calls, including integrating data into briefings and documentation
-Assist Engineers and Program Managers by planning and conducting formal and informal engineering program reviews and meetings
-Handle all tasks associated with records management and coordination of briefings and reports
-Assist in producing or reviewing documents for program office use that support the breadth of the projects acquisition and sustainment logistics efforts.
-Participate in integrated logistics support management meetings, PMRs, and related meetings
-Analyze, organize, plan and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more basic programs using established procedures
-Analyze basic contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements
Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
•Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree.
•At least two (2) years of DoD experience in Logistics and/or Configuration Management
•Experience with DoD or Air Force acquisitions and logistics support programs
•Experience with Product Lifecycle Management Software Tools
•Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
•Excellent writing and presentation skills.
•Must have an active DoD Secret level of clearance and the ability to maintain this level of clearance
•10% CONUS travel
