Job Description:

Leidos has an immediate opportunity for a Splunk Deployment Engineer for the Military and Veterans Health Solution Operation. The right qualified candidate will join an organization of approximately $680M and 1,450 employees working to employ health technology to enable the transformation of health and healthcare. This position will work within a geographically dispersed team using software tools for monitoring Military Health System applications and infrastructure. The Splunk Engineer ensures the Splunk platform itself is available and performing well.

Working with IT staff from various hospitals and programs around the enterprise to understand their monitoring requirements and to ensure ingestion of their data.  Build and enhance visualizations to meet those requirements.  Administering a distributed Splunk platform and Splunk Apps on Linux.   Integrating Splunk with a wide variety of data sources and developing associated knowledge objects such as dashboards, reports, and alerts for performance monitoring purposes. Consulting with customers to customize and configure Splunk to meet their requirements. Engaging application and infrastructure teams to establish best practices for utilizing Splunk data and visualizations. Communicating with customer stake holders including leadership, support teams, and system administrators. 

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree coupled with 4+ years experience or Master’s degree and 2+ years experience in the Information Technology arena
  • 2+ years of experience in a Splunk Administration role working in a Splunk clustered environment
  • 1+ year experience in using REST  API’s 
  • Working Knowledge of Change & Configuration Management.  
  • Strong problem solving abilities with an analytic and qualitative eye for reasoning under pressure.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little supervision
  • Ability to script in two or more of the following computer languages Python, Bash, JavaScript or Powershell

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Defense Health Agency networks and programs

Splunk certifications

Security+ or CISSP certification
