Key Capabilities:

Leidos is looking for a Civil CAD Designer to support our Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management customer in Grand Junction, CO The Civil CAD Designer is responsible for supporting day-to-day needs and requests from the DOE LM related to drawings and products developed during the design process. In addition, the Civil CAD Designer will support the land survey team in the field.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review and update site civil design drawings

  • Creating surface and solid CAD models according to client specifications

  • Work with a design team and individually on CAD projects

  • Perform model rendering and delivering of the final product

  • Prepare survey as-built drawings and alignment drawings

  • Perform quality control checks of drawings

  • Perform field work with the survey team.

Required Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Associates degree in scientific or engineering discipline, or two years of equivalent work experience in the field of civil CAD design.

  • CAD Certification from an accredited institution.

  • Advanced knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software with particular knowledge of Civil3D.

  • Ability to read and translate design specifications, as-built drawings, and technical drawings.

  • Basic understanding of building design and civil engineering processes.

  • Previous experience as a survey technician supporting land survey operations.

  • 2+ years’ professional experience working with the AutoCAD Architectural Engineering and Construction software (AEC Collection) to include Civil 3D.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects.

  • Ability to participate in field work in various terrains.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Understanding of Esri suite of products including ArcGIS Desktop.

  • 1+ years’ experience supporting land survey operations.

This position requires successful completion of a HSPD-12 government background check to access government facilities and/or systems. Due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
