Job Description:

Varec is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to support our FuelsManager system program. The DevOps Engineer works in close collaboration with the software engineering, IT and Test Engineering teams. Will be responsible for designing, implementing and automating build, release, deployment, system monitoring and configuration activities. A successful candidate will have prior experience around automation design and implementation in real-time systems or high-reliability environments.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, test and maintain build and deployment for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive the team toward automation and deployment best practices.
  • Lead efforts in automation, continuous deployment, build, and configuration management.
  • Provisions cloud services to establish environments for Development, testing and production
  • Actively participate in scrum and design meetings to drive quality releases.
  • Produce and maintain documentation on installations, procedures and requirements for systems.
  • Research, propose, and apply new promising technologies, strategies and ways to solve technical issues.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Technical field with at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience building out CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Bamboo
  • Strong scripting skills – RUby, PHP, Pearl, Python, Bash
  • 2+ years’ experience using Puppet, Chef, or Cloud Formation, Teraform, Ansible for configuration management
  • 2+ years of AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, IAM, CloudWatch)
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, etc
  • 3+ years Linux and Windows system administration
  • Professional experience with Bitbucket, Git, or TFS
  • Working familiarity with Docker, VirtualBox, and VMWare technologies
  • Ability to work within a dynamic work environment, ability to handle multiple tasks at once (multi-task)
  • Working familiarity with JFrog, Artifactory or Nexus
  • Working familiarity with Atlassian, or Gitlab tools with Agile workflows
  • Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment
  • Experience building out CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Bamboo

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DNS and web server configurations
  • Familiarity with at least one systems-programming language such as Java, C++, C# or Rust
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions required
